One way to help the heart heal is to give it something to look forward to. 

I know that If you are going through sadness and grief, you may not feel like making plans to do happy things. When I was going through my own grief, this was difficult but it was also essential to help me stay afloat.

It can be pretty much anything, a short trip, a meal with friends or doing a relaxing activity.
