Get up and move

After loosing one of my loved ones, sometimes I had a hard time getting up in the morning and also going into one particular room that was full of memories.

So I downloaded a dance APP. I usually don't dance which was perfect in this case. Let me tell you why:

1. Doing physical activity in the morning sent a message to my brain that it was time to move and after a few days it created a habit and getting out of bed became more effortless.
2. Doing something that I wasn't used to, forced me to focus my attention and therefore I had no wondering thoughts or sad thoughts.
3. Endorphins.

As a bonus I did it in the room that was full of memories so that I could put this new memory on top of the other ones. (This can be a bit hard, so if you don't feel ready to go into a certain room just yet, do it in another room where you feel safe).

For me dance worked because, as I said before, it was something that required my full attention in order to be able to do it. For you it could be any other kind of physical activity: yoga, kickboxing, running, etc. Just make sure is something you can do almost as soon as you get out of the bed.

Of course, there might be times when you'll still be sad, but keep trying.
